It definitely brought the humor with the Loki storyline. It's one thing to stand by your zombie wife who more or less is still your regular wife, but... if body parts start falling off left and right? It turns out Loki becoming a zombie has unleashed his inner artist, so he's not killing people—except with his music. But I should have known the Santa Clarita Diet writers would have something even better in store. Point is, the show has very sneakily explored some real marriage issues in an organic yet hilarious way.

Plus, they discover that Serbian book guy is a big, fat liar. But in episode 9, "The Book!," they change things up a bit for some quality parental time and it really works. *sniff*Joel, meanwhile, is on the case for the cure, going after the guy who claims to have the Serbian book. This parental storyline is even better, because poor Eric desperately needs a father figure and he and Joel are really great together. Santa Clarita Diet has so far done a wonderful job of exploring Joel and Sheila's marriage, which is now being tested by her becoming a zombie.

Netflix Original Santa Clarita Diet is Drop-Dead Hilarious – The Bottom Line News

Enter the new Netflix original Santa Clarita Diet. Santa Clarita Diet is about a pair of boring, middle aged, married real estate agents who live in California. Santa Clarita Diet is a perfect show for those who love dark, deadpan comedy. Santa Clarita Diet takes the idea of a "monster" existing within suburban, white picket fence America and it creates an ongoing commentary on the extensive consumerism found within the U.S. However, the interactions between Joel and Shelia made finishing the show completely worth the somewhat less appealing comedic moments.
