Tia Mowry looked like the picture-perfect teenager on "Sister, Sister," but she wasn't living a healthy lifestyle. A professor convinced her to write "Give up diet pills" on paper and toss it into a fire. "I haven't touched diet pills since that day, and thankfully, I haven't wanted to." If heaven leads to health problems, that is."To stay slim, she began taking diet pills. "Everything I wanted was at my fingertips: Twizzlers, M&M's, Starbursts, potato chips, you name it," Mowry described.

Tia Mowry admits she took diet pills on Sister, Sister

'I didn't feel fat, but the pressure of being on television and wanting to look sexy and beautiful took over,' she wrote in an excerpt published by People, explaining that she started taking diet pills. In the '90s, Tia Mowry faced the body insecurities that so many teen girls do — but in her case, the pressure was compounded by the fact that she was the star of a hit show with her twin sister, Tamara. I got skinny, true, but the pills caused my heart to race, and I knew in my gut that I was hurting myself.' 'My sister and I used to read every fan mail because we just love our fans that much.
