Unhealthful plant-based diet can increase heart disease risk
"When we examined the associations of the three food categories with heart disease risk, we found that healthy plant foods were associated with lower risk, whereas less healthy plant foods and animal foods were associated with higher risk [of heart disease]," says Dr. Satija. Another analysis showed that plant-based diets are good for people diagnosed with ischemic heart disease, while a further report recommended the consumption of fruits and vegetables to prevent the onset of coronary heart disease. Most plant-based diets can work to prevent heart disease, but specialists warn that unwholesome plant foods should be avoided. In the United States, approximately 610,000 people die of heart disease every year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Plant-based diets are said to play an important role in preventing heart disease.collected by :Lucy William
